Refrigerator or cold water: Thawing poultry has never been so easy.
Thawing chicken is a breeze!
IN THE FRIDGE
- Leave chicken in the original packaging.
- Place it on a platter to catch any juices and put it in the fridge.
- Allow 10 hours per kilo.
IN COLD WATER
- Leave chicken in the original packaging.
- Cover with cold water.
- Change the water every 30 minutes so the surface stays cold.
- Allow 2 hours per kilo.
- Cook within 24 hours.
WARNING
Do not thaw chicken at room temperature.
The two best ways to thaw a turkey
If you prefer, you can thaw your Exceldor Freezer to Oven turkey before cooking.
IN THE FRIDGE
- This is the most recommended method. Thawing your turkey in the fridge keeps it cold until it is thoroughly defrosted.
- Leave turkey in the original packaging.
- Place it on a platter to catch any juices and put it in the fridge.
- Allow at least 1 day per 2 kg (4.4 lb.).
IN COLD WATER
- We recommend thawing your turkey in the fridge but to speed things up, you can use the cold-water method.
- Leave turkey in its original packaging and place it breast down in a container.
- Cover with cold water.
- Change the water every 30 minutes so the surface stays cold.
- Allow at least 1 to 2 hours per kilo (2.2 lb.).
