1 package of 4 Greek style herbs chicken skewers
- A drizzle of olive oil
- 4 pitas
TZATZIKI SAUCE
- ¾ cup (190 ml) plain greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp. (30 ml) cucumber, finely diced
- 2 tbsp. (30 ml) lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp. (15 ml) fresh dill
- ¼ tsp. (1 ml) dried oregano
SALAD
- ¾ cup (190 ml) cherry tomatoes, halved
- ¾ cup (190 ml) cucumber, sliced, and cut into 4
- ¼ cup (65 ml) red onion, very thinly sliced
- ¼ cup (65 ml) fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- A drizzle of olive oil

- Preheat the oven at 400°F (205°C) and place the oven rack in the middle position, or heat barbecue to medium.
OVEN - Lightly oil the marinated chicken skewers and place them on a baking sheet. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
BARBECUE - Lightly oil the marinated chicken skewers and place them directly on the barbecue grill. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, turning the skewers once or twice.
- In the meantime, in a medium-sized bowl, mix tzatziki sauce ingredients and set aside.
- In another medium-sized bowl, mix salad ingredients and set aside.
- To assemble the gyros, spread the tzatziki sauce in the centre of the pitas. Place the pieces of one chicken skewer on each pita, and garnish with salad. Close the gyros and serve.
